What “best healer” means in this ranking
World of Warcraft players choose a healing specialization within a class, so the seven entries below are specs across six classes: Priest contributes both Discipline and Holy. The tiers come from Icy Veins’ post-tuning assessment of The War Within Season 2 Mythic+. The ranking is specific to Mythic+ and that Season 2 tuning snapshot. It should not be carried forward as a current-meta guide or treated as a raid ranking. The cited rankings support the importance of activity and date, but do not provide a comparable ability-by-ability assessment of all seven specs.

Why raid rankings can look different
Mythic+ and raid are different activities, and a raid ranking is not a substitute for a Mythic+ tier list. WoWMeta’s Manaforge Omega raid view, last updated March 23, 2026, is based on 27,508 records and uses the Official WarcraftLogs Raid Logs API. Its method uses the lower bound of a 95% confidence interval (LB_CI) and forms five tiers by clustering LB_CI values with Ckmeans. That site’s raid ranking is headed by Preservation Evoker, Restoration Shaman, and Holy Priest. Those results describe WoWMeta’s dataset and method, not a universal ranking of healers. How to use an old tier list to choose a healer
- Match the list to your activity. Use the Season 2 snapshot only as evidence about that Mythic+ context; for raid, consult raid-specific evidence instead.
- Check the date and tuning context. The War Within had a later Season 3: Blizzard’s announcement says it introduced Manaforge Omega, Eco-Dome Al’dani, and an updated Mythic+ rotation, with Season 3 Mythic+ beginning the week of August 12, 2025. Read Blizzard’s Season 3 announcement.
- Consider the whole group experience. Healing output is not the only question players care about; utility, playstyle, and whether you enjoy the spec matter too. A community discussion captures that distinction by asking which healer makes a Mythic+ group more enjoyable because of its whole toolkit, but that is a reader perspective, not survey evidence.
