Is the Switch 2 GameCube Controller available to order now?
Nintendo of America’s Nintendo Switch Online special-offers page lists the Nintendo GameCube Controller as member-exclusive hardware at a regular price of $69.99. The listing establishes that Nintendo offers the product, but it does not show live stock or confirm that US checkout is open at this moment. Check the Nintendo Store for your region before placing an order.
Nintendo Australia’s controller FAQ says the controller is not a limited-time offer in Australia and identifies Nintendo Store as the place to buy it. That Australian guidance does not establish stock or sales terms in other regions.
Who can buy it, and what membership is required?
Nintendo Australia says a paid Nintendo Switch Online or Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership is required to purchase the controller; a free trial does not qualify. The FAQ also states a limit of one controller per Nintendo Account. These are Australian terms, so check your local store for any regional differences.

Buying the controller and accessing the GameCube – Nintendo Classics collection are separate questions. Nintendo Australia says Expansion Pack membership is required for that collection, while either of the paid membership tiers it names can qualify a customer to purchase the controller.
What the controller works with
Nintendo says the controller can only be used with Nintendo Switch 2. It is designed for the GameCube – Nintendo Classics library, but is optional for playing that collection. Nintendo cautions that other games may have issues because the controller lacks buttons and features available on other controllers.
