HotHardware’s November 4, 2016 review found that Titanfall 2 scaled well at 1080p and 1440p on midrange graphics cards in its test system, while 4K at maximum settings was substantially more demanding. Those results are a historical snapshot, not a guide to performance on today’s PCs: the reviewer tested one campaign mission with FRAPS, and the game had no in-game benchmark.
What HotHardware tested—and what its results mean
In the review’s 2016 test environment, a PC with an Intel Core i7-6700K, 16 GB of Corsair DDR4-2666 memory, Windows 10, and a Corsair Neutron Series XT SSD ran the game. The game files were stored on a 1 TB Corsair Voyager Air drive. HotHardware reported that Titanfall 2 did not include an in-game benchmark, so the reviewer captured frame rates with FRAPS during the “Cooper’s Log” campaign mission, selected TSAA anti-aliasing, and disabled V-Sync.
The review’s text says midrange GPUs scaled well at 1080p and 1440p, but 4K was considerably harder to run. It reports that a GTX 1080 came in just shy of 50 FPS at 4K with maximum settings in that test. Lowering settings could improve the result, but the available report does not provide a verifiable GPU-by-GPU chart or enough detail to give a wider set of frame rates.
These figures describe a specific 2016 test system, scene, and settings combination. They cannot establish how the game will perform on a particular current PC; the review did not test modern GPUs.

Campaign and multiplayer performance
HotHardware found that multiplayer generally performed similarly to the campaign in its tests, though it could be somewhat more demanding. The review reports multiplayer frame rates trending about 4–9 FPS lower than the campaign results. That is a difference observed under its own 2016 test conditions, not a universal performance penalty: results depend on the hardware, scene, settings, and activity being measured.
Graphics settings and anti-aliasing
The review describes around 20 PC graphics settings, including field of view, model detail, impact marks, dynamic spot shadows, ragdolls, and adaptive-resolution frame-rate targets. That count is HotHardware’s approximate inventory from 2016, not a confirmed list of the game’s current settings.

For its test, the reviewer chose TSAA. HotHardware preferred it as a balance of image quality and performance, while reporting that MSAA looked softer and cost more performance on its test hardware. The reviewer also observed edge shimmer and other visual anomalies with MSAA, more prominently on its Nvidia cards than its AMD cards. These are the reviewer’s observations on historical test hardware, not a guarantee that every PC will show the same effects.
Adaptive resolution was tied to TSAA in the review’s account: the option was unavailable with anti-aliasing turned off or with MSAA selected. If you are choosing settings, treat the review’s preference for TSAA as a starting point rather than a current-system prescription; the article does not supply enough chart-level data to identify a best setting for every GPU and resolution.

Is the game worth playing for its campaign?
The review’s positive judgment rests on the combination of fast first-person shooting, wall-running, double-jumping, and Titan combat. It highlights the dedicated single-player campaign featuring rifleman Jack Cooper and Titan BT-7274 as a major change from the first Titanfall, alongside multiplayer with a broader selection of Titans and customization. Steam’s listing describes both single-player and online PvP modes, without establishing current player population or service quality: Titanfall 2 on Steam.
HotHardware praised the movement, pace, campaign, multiplayer, and graphics, while noting that the speed may not suit every player and that the single-player content may feel short. Those are the reviewer’s assessments, not universal measures of a player’s experience.
