Its player-authored progression is Earth 1 → Warfare 1 → Earth 2 → Warfare 5, followed by a short damage-focused rotation: War Banner, Valor, then repeated Fissure casts. Treat this as one community build for the chapter-four version—not an official template or a guaranteed best build—and check current skill tooltips before spending points.
What does “Battlemage” mean in Titan Quest II?
It is best understood as a hybrid build label, not a fixed official class with a single required skill tree. Titan Quest II lets a character combine two masteries and shape the result through skills, modifiers, attributes, and items. The game’s official description presents that flexibility as part of the class system.
The Earth/Warfare example below is built around Fissure. It is useful as a starting point if you want a spell-centered approach, but it does not establish that every Battlemage should use these masteries or follow the same point order.
What is the Earth/Warfare Fissure progression?
In a Reddit post titled “My build: Fissure Battlemage (updated),” posted June 28, 2026 and updated by its author for chapter four, the player gives this mastery sequence:

The author’s stated priorities are to get Fissure early, take buffs from both masteries, then prioritize Warfare 4 for Valor and War Banner and Warfare 5 for War Domain and Carnage. The post credits the later skills with increasing total damage and physical penetration. Those are the author’s recommendations and descriptions; they are not an official progression prescription, and skill effects can change with updates.
Use the order as a route to consider rather than a rigid leveling rule. The post does not provide a complete point-by-point allocation for every level, attribute targets, or a fully specified gear list.

How do you play the Fissure rotation?
- Place War Banner.
- Activate Valor.
- Cast Fissure repeatedly while the buffs are active.
Positioning is part of the post’s advice. Against groups, aim through multiple enemies so the fissures can connect with more than one target. Against a boss, the author recommends moving close so all three fissures hit. The post also says its spell-based version can fit five Fissures into a Valor window, compared with four for its weapon-based version; it does not provide enough detail to treat that difference as a current, independently verified comparison.
How strong is the build against bosses?
The Reddit author reports defeating the chapter-four final boss in around 10 seconds on first contact at roughly level 42. That is a personal, anecdotal claim—not a controlled test, a typical-time estimate, or a performance promise. Gear, character setup, game version, execution, and encounter conditions can all affect a result.

How should you adapt gear?
No specific best-in-slot Battlemage item or validated stat threshold is established by the cited sources. Rather than chasing a supposedly guaranteed named item, use useful drops and tune them where the crafting system allows.
THQ Nordic’s August 14, 2026 crafting explanation describes four ways to improve found items: reforge an affix’s value, replace an affix with an eligible option, add an affix if the item has room, or upgrade the item’s level. Replacement choices depend on what the base item can naturally roll, and upgrades have a ceiling. Items cannot be crafted from scratch. What should you check before committing points?
Build advice can age as masteries and skills change. Update 7 for version 0.6.0-public.130900+win.2727 was published June 18, 2026. It added the Wild Lands chapter, raised the maximum level to 55, and introduced Tier 5 passives. Its notes described few mastery balance changes in that update and said broader mastery adjustments were planned after work on Spirit Mastery. Consult the official Update 7 patch notes and compare their details with the live skill tooltips before investing points.
THQ Nordic’s September 23, 2026 news listing announced a planned January 2027 launch on PC and consoles. Release plans and availability can change; this guide’s build example is tied to the community post’s chapter-four context, not a claim about every later version or platform.
