The sixteen words are SINGE, MUNCH, PAPER, POLLOCK, BACON, CHAMP, CHAR, WHISTLER, BITE, TANG, RAPT, CHEESE, HUMP, BREAD, SOLE, and CHEW.
| Color | Category | Words |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | Slang for money | BACON, BREAD, CHEESE, PAPER |
| Green | Masticate | BITE, CHAMP, CHEW, MUNCH |
| Blue | Fish | CHAR, POLLOCK, SOLE, TANG |
| Purple | Ways to vocalize musically plus a letter | HUMP, RAPT, SINGE, WHISTLER |
Why the purple group fits
Each tile resembles a musical vocalization with an extra letter: HUMP evokes HUM, RAPT evokes RAP, SINGE evokes SING, and WHISTLER evokes WHISTLE. The extra letter is part of the wordplay, rather than a separate category clue.
