Why the overlaps can mislead
BAR fits the entry-blocking group as a verb, not as a place to get a drink. TRASH and REFUSE can look like near-synonyms, but the puzzle separates them: TRASH is a Mac folder, while REFUSE belongs with the verbs that prohibit entry. COMPACT may suggest a small computer or a disc, but here it joins CLAM, LAPTOP, and WAFFLE IRON as something that opens on a hinge.
Was this game #710 or #754?
TechRadar and Parade label the May 21 puzzle #710, while the wordle.today archive lists the same date and categories as #754. Because the date and answers match but the numbering does not, the date and solution groups are the dependable way to identify this puzzle. TechRadar’s guide, Parade’s May 21 guide, and the wordle.today archive show the discrepancy.
