How Connections works

Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four. You can make up to four mistakes. The colors indicate the puzzle’s intended difficulty order—yellow, green, blue, then purple—but a group’s apparent difficulty can vary from solver to solver, as TechRadar’s guide explains.

How to play this archived puzzle

The New York Times Help Center says Connections is available on the NYT Games website, in the Games app, at nytimes.com/theathletic, and in the News app. Daily puzzles are released at midnight in each player’s timezone, so a “today” puzzle can refer to different dates depending on location. See the NYT Connections Help Center for current play and access details.

The Help Center says its archive covers puzzles from June 12, 2023 onward and is available to All Access and Games subscribers. Completed archive puzzles cannot be replayed; archived play affects some statistics but not daily streaks. These archive details were checked October 8, 2026, and may change. The specific archived #671 grid is not confirmed by the retrieved official page; the answers above come from the two date-specific guides linked earlier.
