Hints for Connections #621

Use these clues in order. Stop before the next section if you want to solve the board yourself.

  1. Look for four words that can each mean a response or remedy to a problem.
  2. Think of different verbs for collecting fruit or other produce from an orchard.
  3. One group names familiar tools used in Photoshop.
  4. The final group includes everyday objects that can have right-handed and left-handed versions.

Answers for February 21, 2025

Spoilers: the full category names and word sets are below.

Yellow: Way of solving a problem

ANSWER, FIX, REMEDY, SOLUTION

Green: Collect, as from an orchard

GATHER, HARVEST, PICK, REAP

Blue: Photoshop tools

ERASER, EYEDROPPER, LASSO, MAGIC WAND

Purple: Objects that may be right- or left-handed

BASEBALL GLOVE, CAN OPENER, GOLF CLUB, GUITAR

Why the groups fit

The first set links near-synonyms for a way to address a problem. GATHER, HARVEST, PICK, and REAP are verbs for collecting produce. ERASER, EYEDROPPER, LASSO, and MAGIC WAND are Photoshop tool names. The last set is joined by handedness: baseball gloves, can openers, golf clubs, and guitars can be made in forms suited to either hand. These are the published category labels and answers, rather than a claim of firsthand play. Try Hard Guides’ February 21, 2025 answer guide identifies the puzzle as #621.

How Connections works

Connections gives players 16 words to sort into four groups of four. The groups are color-coded by difficulty: yellow is described as easiest and purple as trickiest. The New York Times Help Center says the game’s words and categories are curated by editors using the Oxford Dictionary. The Help Center’s Connections page describes the game as one that challenges players to find themes between words.

To submit a guess, select four words and submit them. Try Hard Guides notes that players may make up to four mistakes and suggests spotting two or three possible matches, then looking for the word that completes the group. The daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone, so “today” in the original puzzle title referred to February 21, 2025; this is a historical answer guide.
