For February 27, 2026—the date of NYT Strands puzzle #726—the theme is “It’s a little much…” The spangram is ENOUGHALREADY. If you meant February 27, 2025, that was a different puzzle with a different answer set.

Clue and hints for Strands #726

The theme clue is “It’s a little much…” Think of words for an excess, an overabundance, or something unnecessary.

How Strands works

Strands uses a 6×8 letter grid. Connect adjacent letters in any direction to form theme words and complete the board. The spangram describes the theme, touches two opposite sides, and is highlighted yellow when you find it. Three non-theme words earn a hint that reveals letters in a theme answer. PC Guide’s February 27, 2026 guide describes these puzzle mechanics and the #726 answers.

Why the year matters

The number #726 identifies the February 27, 2026 puzzle, not the puzzle from the same date in 2025. The 2025 edition was titled “Living large”; its spangram was BIGSTUFF, and its theme answers were BIRD, BREAK, CHEESE, FOOT, LEAGUES, PICTURE, and SPENDER. The WordsRated Strands archive lists the two dates separately, and Forbes’ February 2025 guide reports the 2025 answer set.
