The Riot Shield was reported missing from Call of Duty: Warzone after its Season 1 update introduced Black Ops 6 integration. The contemporaneous report said the patch notes did not explain the absence, so it is not established whether the shield was deliberately removed or disappeared as an unintended result of the update.
Where is the Riot Shield?
GameSpot reported that the shield was missing following Warzone’s Season 1 update, which brought in Black Ops 6 weapons and movement changes. The report described the change as unannounced: the Season 1 patch notes did not mention the Riot Shield’s absence. GameSpot’s report documents the timing, but does not establish that the shield was removed from every mode or platform.
Why was the Riot Shield removed from Warzone?
No confirmed reason is established by the available reporting. The lack of a patch-note entry does not show whether the change was intentional or an accidental consequence of integrating Black Ops 6. There is no basis here to describe it as a confirmed balance decision or a confirmed integration bug.
How to check its current status
The Season 1 report is historical, not a definitive answer about today’s playlists. Activision’s patch-note archive lists later Warzone updates, including Season 06 in 2026, but the available archive information does not provide a shield-specific explanation or confirm availability in each mode. The Warzone support hub likewise does not settle the item’s present status.
