Timekeeper’s New Shield is a legendary Armor Shield in Borderlands 4. Its unusual Bininu effect gives up all shield capacity in exchange for a large boost to health, health regeneration, and damage reduction. The Timekeeper in Upper Dominion is a reported source, and the nearby Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine can let you repeat the fight.
What Timekeeper’s New Shield does
The shield’s Bininu effect replaces a conventional shield bar with direct survivability bonuses. Lootlemon’s item listing, updated in 2026, reports +7,436 maximum health, +372 health regeneration per second, -33% damage taken, and zero maximum shield capacity. These are database-reported values, not confirmed universal stats; the listing does not establish how they scale with item level.

In practical terms, the item is built around taking less damage and recovering health rather than absorbing hits with a shield. The zero-capacity trade-off means you should evaluate it as a health-focused defensive option, not as a normal shield with a larger buffer.
How to get Timekeeper’s New Shield
- Travel to Upper Dominion and defeat The Timekeeper. Game8 and the Borderlands Wiki list the boss as a possible source; the Borderlands Wiki describes an increased chance from this encounter.
- If you have completed the campaign fight, look for Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine near the arena. Game8 says it can be used to replay the encounter and farm the boss.
- Repeat the fight until the shield drops. No fixed or guaranteed drop probability is established by the cited listings, so a run may not produce the item.
Lootlemon also lists Primordial Guardian Timekeeper among the sources. Its database gives specific drop-rate figures, but these are third-party estimates rather than official confirmation, so they should not be treated as guaranteed odds.

Manufacturer and listing differences
Lootlemon and the Borderlands Wiki identify the manufacturer as Tediore. Mobalytics instead lists Torgue and displays placeholders for some effect values. Tediore is the better-supported attribution across the reviewed listings, but no official item catalog located here definitively resolves the discrepancy.
The December 11, 2025 official update notes mention a fix involving the Tediore Legendary Pistol Inscriber counting the Timekeeper’s Radiant Shield correctly. That note concerns a different item and does not confirm this shield’s current stats or drop rate.
