Connections asks you to sort 16 words into four groups of four. These clues move from a general nudge toward the underlying wordplay:
- Yellow: Held in position.
- Green: One who pays.
- Blue: Meteorological beginnings.
- Purple: Open without sound.
The blue clue points to weather terms at the starts of the words; the purple clue points to a phrase completed by the same word.
