Check the platform and symptom, update the client, then try only the relevant steps below—especially the conditional PC and mobile settings tied to the problem.
Identify what “lag” means in your case
Before changing settings, note your platform, device or PC specifications, game version, when the issue began, and whether it happens everywhere or only in a particular area. Change one setting at a time and compare under similar conditions so you can tell whether it helped.
- Network latency: inputs or world responses arrive late even though movement and animation may look smooth.
- Low or unstable frame rate: the image updates slowly or unevenly.
- Stuttering or hitching: brief freezes interrupt otherwise smooth play.
- Audio trouble: sound is missing, delayed, distorted, or playing through the wrong device.
A problem can involve more than one symptom, but do not assume that network lag, frame-rate trouble, stuttering, and audio faults share a single cause.
Update the client and check current notices
The official Wuthering Waves news listing showed Version 3.7 patch notes dated September 30, 2026, making that the latest release context available here as of October 8, 2026. Update through the store or launcher where you installed the game; Steam’s Wuthering Waves listing also provides a route to support for its PC version.

Version-specific patch advice below applies only when the named feature and conditions match your setup. It is not a universal fix for current problems. A community-maintained archive of Version 3.6 notices reports a cross-platform performance optimization for eligible devices, with exclusions for iOS devices with 4 GB RAM or less and Android devices with 6 GB RAM or less. It says eligible players could identify participation by an asterisk in the version/time display and report issues through in-game Feedback. Because this information is secondary, check the current client notice for eligibility rather than assuming the optimization applies to your device.
On PC, check requirements and isolate frame-rate problems
Compare your PC with Steam’s listed requirements
Steam’s specifications are a baseline, not a promise that the game will run smoothly at every quality setting. The figures below are for the Steam listing:

If performance is poor, compare your actual hardware and install drive with the listing before considering an upgrade. An SSD may be relevant if your PC uses an HDD and storage is a concern, but it is not a remedy for network latency, audio routing, driver problems, or a game bug.
If stuttering occurs with DLSS Frame Generation
KURO GAMES’ Version 2.1 patch notes give a specific check for FPS drops or stuttering when using DLSS Frame Generation: verify that Windows Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling is enabled, then restart the PC. If the problem remains, contact customer support. This advice is conditional on using that feature; it is not a general Windows performance fix.

When comparing PC graphics settings, prioritize stable frame times and responsive input over a higher displayed frame rate if the latter comes with hitching or other problems. Change one relevant setting at a time, including Frame Generation where applicable, and compare under similar gameplay conditions.
On mobile, lower a setting if trouble began with it
Some graphics options can cause performance or hardware-related issues on particular device and system combinations. If the trouble coincides with a higher option, lower or disable that option rather than assuming every device should use it.

These version-specific cautions do not establish that either option is faulty on every device. Compare visual quality with sustained performance and device stability, and change only the option associated with the onset of trouble.

First check whether other apps play correctly through the same headphones or speakers. Then verify the active system output device and Wuthering Waves’ in-game volume. If sound is routed through a controller, test without that route where practical.

Historical patch notes show that audio symptoms have had distinct software causes: KURO GAMES’ Version 2.6 notes record a fix for sound disappearing after earphones or earbuds were connected via a PS4 controller, while its Version 1.3 notes record a fix for sound-effect or music stutter on certain devices. These older fixes do not show that your current issue has the same cause or that a universal audio fix exists.
Contact support with a reproducible problem
If the issue continues, report what you can reproduce rather than guessing at its cause. Steam’s listing identifies the official support email as [email protected].
- Platform and device or PC specifications
- Game version and when the issue began
- Whether the symptom is late responses, low FPS, hitching, or an audio fault
- The affected scene or area and whether the issue occurs elsewhere
- Settings you changed and what happened afterward
If it started after an update, include that timing without assuming the update caused it.
