What is Poppy Playtime Chapter 4?
Safe Haven is the fourth chapter of Poppy Playtime. MOB Entertainment’s official page describes a journey farther into the factory’s depths, with new threats and allies, puzzles, and revelations about the company’s past. The chapter launched on PC on January 30, 2025; the PlayStation Store lists June 25, 2025 for its PS5 release. The Steam edition requires the free base game.

1. The descent reaches previously undiscovered depths
The chapter pushes the player farther beneath the known factory. That change in setting moves the story from exploring Playtime Co.’s visible spaces toward the systems and institutions hidden below them. MOB’s official description establishes this deeper descent as part of the chapter’s premise.
2. The factory’s hidden setting is a prison
Dot Esports identifies the central location as Playtime Prison, a facility holding experiments. The prison setting gives the underground descent a sharper purpose: this is not simply another factory wing, but a place tied to the company’s treatment and confinement of its creations.
3. The Hour of Joy’s aftermath is visible in the wreckage
In Dot Esports’ account, the prison is damaged and the toys who remain have endured violence and scarcity. The guide describes the environment and survivors as evidence of what followed the Hour of Joy; it does not provide a statistic or a comprehensive history of the prison’s losses.
4. The Doctor controls threats and prison systems
The guide identifies the Doctor as Harley Sawyer and describes him directing dangers and controlling systems in the prison. His influence is therefore part of the setting’s immediate threat, not just a name attached to the company’s past. No additional origin story or experiment number is established by the sources cited here.

Yarnaby is among the threats the player encounters on the route toward confronting the Doctor, according to Dot Esports. MOB’s official store also features Yarnaby, but the sources cited here do not substantiate a deeper biography for the character.
6. Doey leads the player to Safe Haven
Doey the Doughman initially appears as a guide to safety: Dot Esports says he leads the player to Safe Haven. That apparent alliance matters because the shelter and Doey’s relationship with its residents become central to the chapter’s later conflict. MOB’s chapter page confirms that allies are part of the experience, without detailing this sequence.

7. Poppy’s plan puts other survivors at risk
Dot Esports says Poppy wants to destroy the factory, while Doey objects that innocent toys could die. The disagreement turns the plan into a moral conflict: ending the factory’s threat may also endanger the toys who have found refuge there. This is the guide’s reading of the plot, not a separately stated developer interpretation.
8. Defeating the Doctor does not resolve the danger
In the guide’s sequence, the Doctor is defeated before Safe Haven is attacked. That ordering makes the defeat a limited victory: one source of danger is removed, but the survivors’ wider conflict is still unfolding.

9. Safe Haven’s destruction turns Doey against the player
Dot Esports describes an attack on the shelter, followed by Doey blaming the player and becoming a boss-fight opponent. Read as a tragic reversal, the confrontation follows the loss of the refuge and the dispute over what Poppy’s plan could cost; it is not simply a revelation that Doey was always an enemy.
10. The ending reveals Ollie’s identity and signals Huggy Wuggy’s return
Major ending spoiler: Dot Esports reports that Ollie is revealed to be the Prototype, followed by a final sequence signaling Huggy Wuggy’s return. These are the chapter’s most consequential reported reveals. The guide is a secondary account, so readers seeking precise confirmation of the ending should check the game itself rather than treating this summary as a developer statement.

The story guide’s sequence links the prison’s history to the immediate stakes: the player descends into a place shaped by confinement and violence, encounters threats under the Doctor’s control, and reaches a shelter whose survival is caught up in Poppy’s plan. The Doctor’s defeat does not settle the dispute, and the ending’s reported reveals shift attention toward the Prototype and a returning familiar threat.
MOB Entertainment’s September 30, 2024 announcement framed the chapter as adding helpful and harmful characters, greater risks, and more extreme horror scenarios. Co-founder and CCO Seth Belanger described those goals as part of making Chapter 4 “the scariest of the franchise.” That is promotional language about intent, not an objective measure of which chapter is scariest.
