Primal Constructs are found among the ruins of Sumeru’s deserts. For a practical sweep, start with the 29-enemy Land of Upper Setekh route documented by GameWith, then adapt it to the waypoints and underground passages your account has unlocked. These enemies drop Damaged, Turbid, and Radiant Prisms; Catalyze reactions or Electro attacks on their recovering components can end their invisibility.
Where to find Primal Constructs
HoYoverse introduced three types—Primal Construct: Prospector, Primal Construct: Reshaper, and Primal Construct: Repulsor—in the Hypostyle Desert. Broader route guides place them around ruins across the Hypostyle Desert, Land of Lower Setekh, Land of Upper Setekh, and Desert of Hadramaveth. They are often near temples and other ruins, and some encounters require underground access.
Use the in-game map and teleport waypoints to orient yourself. A surface-only search can miss enemies inside connected ruin rooms or underground passages; if a route marker seems inaccessible, check for a nearby underground waypoint or entrance rather than assuming the enemy is absent.

Land of Upper Setekh route
GameWith’s guide, updated August 12, 2026, describes a route with 29 Primal Constructs in the Land of Upper Setekh, including underground waypoints and connected rooms near the Mausoleum of King Deshret. Treat 29 as that guide’s route count, not an official total for the game or a guarantee that every encounter is accessible on every account.

This is a useful starting point if you want a concentrated farming session. Follow its waypoint sequence where your map allows, and skip or defer sections whose underground routes or waypoints you have not opened.
Broader desert sweep
If you are exploring rather than following one concentrated loop, check ruins across the Hypostyle Desert, both Setekh areas, and the Desert of Hadramaveth. Route references cover these subregions, but the available guides do not establish one universal best route or a single complete count across all of them. Your fastest practical path depends on unlocked waypoints, underground access, and which enemies remain on your map.

Prism drops and farming targets
Primal Constructs drop three materials: Damaged Prism, Turbid Prism, and Radiant Prism. These are used for weapon ascension; examples of weapons associated with prism requirements include Key of Khaj-Nisut and A Thousand Floating Dreams.
Community guides report Turbid Prism from level 40 or higher enemies and Radiant Prism from level 60 or higher enemies. Treat those thresholds as guide-reported drop guidance, not as a currently reverified official drop table. Damaged Prism is the lower-tier material. If you need a particular higher-tier prism, prioritize the stronger enemies you encounter and check your inventory and weapon ascension screen to confirm what remains necessary.

During combat, a Primal Construct can launch components while its core turns invisible and gains resistance. HoYoverse’s Version 3.1 guidance gives two ways to interrupt this phase:

- The ad-free feature is especially beneficial for a seamless gaming experience. Ads can often be disruptive and distracting, so having the option to play without them significantly improves overall enjoyment. With no interruptions, players can focus solely on strategy and gameplay, creating a smoother and more immersive experience.
- Use a Catalyze reaction on the core. Catalyze reactions can hit the invisible core and cancel its invisibility.
- Use Electro on a deployed component while it is recovering. After a component has been destroyed and is recovering, Electro can strike it to cancel invisibility and immobilize the core.
For a straightforward approach, bring an Electro character or a team that can trigger Catalyze reliably. Focus on the component’s recovery window when using the Electro method; ordinary attacks at other times are not the specific counter HoYoverse describes.
Quick Recap
Route planning checklist
- Choose your target: decide whether you need any prisms or are farming with the guide-reported higher-level drop thresholds in mind.
- Check access: make sure the route’s waypoints and underground passages are available to your account.
- Follow the map, not just a list: some encounters are underground or inside connected ruin spaces, so use nearby entrances and waypoints to reach them.
- Use combat counterplay: trigger Catalyze on the invisible core or apply Electro to recovering components to cut down the invisibility downtime.
- Recheck in-game: community route counts and directions can change or be affected by exploration access; verify the route against your current map.
