Can You Use Riot Points (RP) in VALORANT?

You can’t convert Riot Points (RP) into VALORANT Points (VP) based on Riot’s published guidance: the currencies are identified with different games, and Riot does not document an RP-to-VP exchange rate. To buy items in VALORANT, you need VP.

Are Riot Points and VALORANT Points interchangeable?

No. Riot identifies RP as the currency for League of Legends and VP as the currency for VALORANT on its chargeback support page. The reviewed Riot guidance does not describe a way to transfer or convert RP into VP, so there is no supported conversion amount to calculate.

What currency does the VALORANT store use?

VALORANT purchases described in Riot’s store guide use VP. Riot says VP can be purchased with real-world payment methods; the guide does not establish current prices or payment availability for every country.

Can you use a prepaid code instead?

Riot’s prepaid-card instructions, published in February 2022, describe redeeming a code in the VALORANT PC client for VP. They also say codes are region-bound and caution against unofficial sellers. Because those instructions are dated and region-specific, check Riot’s current guidance for your platform and region before buying a code.
