To reset the platform’s idle timer, return to the game and interact before that interval elapses. Roblox does not document a player setting that turns off this timeout.
What triggers Roblox’s idle disconnect?
Roblox says it automatically disconnects a player who has been idle for at least 20 minutes. The interval is a platform behavior, not a rule that every individual game sets. The official description is on the Roblox Creator Hub Player reference; it does not state a publication year.
The Player reference also describes an Idled event for experience developers: it fires approximately two minutes after the engine classifies a player as idle and then every 30 seconds while the player remains idle. These are developer-facing event timings, not a grace period or a way for players to change the platform’s 20-minute threshold.
How can you avoid the platform timeout?
- Return before 20 minutes of idleness. If you want to remain in the experience, come back before the documented threshold.
- Interact with the game. Roblox says activity stops the
Idledevent and resets the elapsed idle time. Its documentation does not specify a particular key, mouse movement, controller input, or action that is guaranteed to work in every experience. - If you are leaving, expect to reconnect. The documented player-facing option is to return and become active; Roblox does not describe a setting that disables its idle disconnect.
Should you use an auto-clicker, macro, or script?
Do not treat automated input as a dependable fix. Roblox’s Third-Party App Policy restricts automated in-game actions such as movement. It describes a possible exception for specific AFK-style experiences whose explicit purpose substantially incorporates time away from the game, but that exception does not establish that automation is acceptable or effective in ordinary gameplay. The official sources do not validate any particular app, macro, device, or input method for preventing a disconnect.

Is this a Roblox idle timeout or a different problem?
The 20-minute behavior covers Roblox’s platform idle disconnect. A game-specific kick, server shutdown, internet interruption, or device going to sleep is a different issue; the cited Player reference does not establish their causes or fixes. If you disconnect without being idle for that interval, check the game’s own notices and your connection or device settings rather than assuming the platform idle timer is responsible.
