In EA Sports FC 24, your goalkeeper can dive to one of five penalty zones: top left, bottom left, centre, top right or bottom right. Check the active controller layout in-game, then choose a zone; the right direction depends on your read of the taker, not a universally correct input.
What are the five penalty save options?
EA’s 2023 gameplay deep dive says FC 24 expanded the goalkeeper’s penalty choices from three zones—left, centre and right—to five. The available zones are:

How do you control your keeper?
Check Button Help or Controller Settings in FC 24 for the controls associated with your platform and active layout. A third-party guide to Classic controls lists right stick plus direction for a goalkeeper dive and left stick plus direction for goalkeeper movement. Treat that as a baseline, not a universal mapping: the active layout, platform and any remapping can change what your inputs do.

How should you choose a direction?
The five-zone choice requires a read or a guess: pick a side and, if you choose a side, a height. The official description establishes the available zones, not a way to know where a particular shot is going. There is no universally correct direction to enter.

Some gameplay creators suggest watching the taker’s gaze or run-up for a cue. That is an anecdotal tactic, not a reliable guarantee that the shot will go in the indicated direction. Use it as one possible clue if you want, but be prepared for the taker to send the ball elsewhere.
