Where to find the Duskwood Hill Ruins puzzle
The puzzle is in the Duskwood area of Hernand, at the ruins with five blue pillars southeast of Warspike Spearmaker. PowerPyx’s Abyss Cresset guide and PC Gamer’s walkthrough describe the location and solution.
How to solve the puzzle from its starting state
Number the pillars from left to right. Pillar 1, at the far left, is fixed and serves as the height reference. Clear the vines before using the sockets around the central mechanism; then use your configured Stab control. Exact button bindings can vary, so use the control shown in your game.
- Clear the vines. Use nearby fire, a fire arrow, or Blinding Flash to uncover the mechanism.
- Raise pillars 3, 4, and 5 partway. Use the socket that moves pillars 3–5. Raise them to an intermediate height—between the reference height of pillar 1 and pillar 2’s starting height.
- Align pillars 3 and 4 with pillar 1. Use the socket that moves pillars 2–4. Raise the group until pillars 3 and 4 match the fixed leftmost pillar.
- Finish pillars 2 and 5. Use the socket that moves pillars 2 and 5, adjusting until both match pillar 1. The mechanism completes when all five pillars are level with the reference.
What to do if the pillars are misaligned
The mechanism’s adjustments can be finicky. If a pillar is only slightly off, return to the socket that controls it and make small corrections. If you have lost track of the sequence, PowerPyx reports that teleporting to another region and returning can reset the puzzle; PC Gamer reports reloading an earlier save as another way to get back to a clean state.
