Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor a steady honey supply in Monster Hunter Wilds, unlock Material Retrieval and assign honey to every available retrieval slot. For honey you need right away, gather the marked points in the Windward Plains, ideally during Plenty. The Area 13 Oasis is a conditional extra stop, not an always-available source.
Choose between passive supply and field gathering
Material Retrieval takes progression and setup, but produces honey in the background. Field gathering gives you pickups immediately, though the route depends on the environment and travel. GameWith says Material Retrieval unlocks at Chapter 4-2; additional gatherers become available through progression and side missions.
| Method | When it is useful | What it depends on |
|---|---|---|
| Material Retrieval | Building a sustained stock while you play | Unlocking the system and gatherers, assigning honey, and the collection forecast |
| Windward Plains route | Getting honey immediately | Honey points being available in the environment; Plenty is the recommended period |
Build a steady supply with Material Retrieval
- Progress to Chapter 4-2 to unlock Material Retrieval, according to GameWith.
- Unlock additional gatherers through story progression and side missions.
- Assign honey to as many available retrieval slots as you can, then collect the results when they are ready.
- Check the forecast before collecting. GameWith reports maximum-stock ranges of 20–30 honey at one star, 30–40 at two stars, and 40–65 at three stars, and estimates roughly 200–300 honey if every retrieval slot is assigned to honey. These are guide-reported ranges and estimates, not guaranteed outputs.
If Plenty improves the forecast, GameWith recommends collecting then for a better result. For the unlock and forecast details, see GameWith’s Material Retrieval and honey guide.
Farm the Windward Plains during Plenty
For active gathering, current route guides point to honey points in the Windward Plains, with Plenty recommended. GameWith describes a practical loop through points around the village and Areas 1 and 7, followed by high points in Areas 6 and 2. From there, fast-travel to the southeast Area 8 camp and, if it is available during Plenty, the Area 13 Oasis camp. AppMedia also describes clustered honey nests in the Windward Plains during Plenty.

- Check the in-game map for honey points and pin them so your Seikret can guide you between them.
- Gather the village-side and Areas 1 and 7 points, then visit the high points in Areas 6 and 2.
- Fast-travel to the southeast Area 8 camp. During Plenty, add the Area 13 Oasis as an optional stop.
- Use a free quest that locks the Windward Plains to Plenty if one is available, and confirm the points on your map before setting out.
Point availability and the environment are condition-dependent, so treat this as a route to follow when the map supports it, rather than a guaranteed list of active nodes. GameWith’s route details are at its honey farming guide; AppMedia’s seasonal route and skill notes are at its honey guide.
Use Honey Hunter and manage respawns
Equip Honey Hunter (甲虫の知らせ) when available to improve field pickup yields. Game8 reports that a pickup can increase from the usual one honey to a random two to five; AppMedia confirms the skill increases the amount but does not give that range. Treat the exact yield as guide-reported, not guaranteed. Details are in Game8’s honey guide.

Game8 estimates that honey points respawn after about 15 minutes and reports that resting at camp refreshes them immediately. Capcom’s support page links to official manuals but does not document honey-specific respawn mechanics in the retrieved content, so regard both timing claims as guide estimates rather than official figures: Capcom support: official game manuals.
Use the Scarlet Forest as an early alternative
Shacknews’s March 2025 guide recommends gathering in the Scarlet Forest during Plenty, including Area 7, as an early-game approach. More recent guides favor the Windward Plains for active farming, so use the Scarlet Forest as an alternative when it suits your current progression or map conditions. The older route is described in Shacknews’s honey guide.
