The Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV crossover has separate unlock paths in each game. In Wilds, reach Hunter Rank 41 and complete “What Lies Ahead” to access the special extra mission. In FFXIV, reach level 100 and finish the Dawntrail main scenario to start “The White Wanderer.” The FFXIV duty is not limited-time; the official site says it will remain available.
Which game has the rewards you want?
The collaboration runs in both games, but the missions and reward pools are different. Use the Wilds path for its Palico equipment and other hunter-facing rewards; use the FFXIV path for Hope gear, Veldian weapons and the other crossover rewards listed on the FFXIV special site.

How to unlock the crossover in Monster Hunter Wilds
- Download Free Title Update 3.
- Reach Hunter Rank 41 or higher.
- Complete the main mission “What Lies Ahead.”
- Take on the special extra mission in the Iceshard Cliffs.
Capcom’s announcement describes Omega Planetes as the additional monster, with a Nerscylla Clone, Morbol Seedling and Cactuar appearing in the collaboration. It also highlights abilities inspired by FFXIV’s Dark Knight and Pictomancer jobs. Capcom’s Free Title Update 3 announcement lists Wilds reward categories: Palico equipment, a Seikret Decoration, a Pendant, a Gesture, a Hunter Profile background, poses, a nameplate and a title.
The announcement does not provide an item-by-item breakdown of the Wilds rewards or say which exact quest, drop or exchange unlocks each one. Check the in-game event and reward interfaces for those details rather than assuming every listed category comes from the Omega mission.

How to start The White Wanderer in FFXIV
- Reach level 100.
- Complete the Dawntrail main scenario quest.
- Accept “The White Wanderer,” the crossover quest identified on the official FFXIV crossover site.
- Take on The Windward Wilds, the trial against Guardian Arkveld.
The official FFXIV site states that this duty is not limited-time. The Lodestone announcement says the crossover began Tuesday, October 7; that start date does not mean the duty expires. Read the Lodestone announcement.

The official reward inventory identifies Hope armor for male and female characters, Veldian weapons for a broad range of jobs, and Augmented Veldian weapon variants. It also groups rewards under gear, mounts, minions, other items and furnishings.

Hope armor
- Male characters: Hope Mask [M], Hope Mail [M], Hope Vambraces [M], Hope Coil [M] and Hope Greaves [M].
- Female characters: Hope Visor [F], Hope Mail [F], Hope Vambraces [F], Hope Coil [F] and Hope Greaves [F].
Veldian weapons
The inventory names Veldian weapons for Paladin, Warrior, Dark Knight, Gunbreaker, Monk, Dragoon, Ninja, Samurai, Reaper, Viper, Bard, Machinist, Dancer, Black Mage, Summoner, Red Mage, Pictomancer, White Mage, Scholar, Astrologian and Sage. It also lists Augmented Veldian weapon variants.
The normal trial, The Windward Wilds, lists an average item level requirement of 725. The Windward Wilds (Extreme) is the more difficult version, lists an average item level of 740 and is associated with exclusive rewards. The special site’s text inventory does not expose all visual reward labels or the precise drop and exchange route for each item, so consult the in-game duty and reward interfaces for current item-by-item acquisition details.

Which route should you take?
- If you mainly play Wilds: meet the HR and mission requirements, then inspect the event interfaces to see the available rewards and how each is earned.
- If you mainly play FFXIV: the level and Dawntrail gates lead to a persistent duty, with the Extreme version requiring the higher listed item level.
- If you want a specific cosmetic: confirm its game and exact acquisition method in that game. The official announcements do not establish a complete item-by-item route or a reliable grind-time comparison across the two games.
