Where to find the Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King
The Mountain King is in a subterranean cave in Yecuemecan Valley, Natlan. Game8 places the entrance in a ravine west of Tepeacac Rise; follow the cave route to the underground Teleport Waypoint and activate it so you can return more easily. This route description comes from a game guide, rather than an official map source.
What to bring to the fight
- A Pyro character: Pyro lets you interact directly with the Flamegranates at the center of the encounter’s special mechanic.
- Your strongest built damage dealers: The cited guides do not establish a universally best team or damage threshold, so use characters you have developed rather than relying on a named lineup.
- A way to stay alive: Bring the defensive support or healing your team needs to survive the boss’s committed attacks.
How the Flamegranate mechanic works
HoYoWiki, HoYoverse’s official game wiki, describes the mechanic this way: “Flamegranates released by it can be grabbed onto and hurled to deal AoE Pyro DMG and explode the others.” Current guides also recommend igniting the fruit with Pyro before the boss consumes it. Doing so can damage or stun the Mountain King and create an opportunity to attack.
- Watch for the boss to release Flamegranates.
- Use Pyro to ignite the fruit before the boss eats it.
- When the boss is occupied or recovering, use your damage rotation.
Do not count on a guaranteed stun from any single fruit. The cited guides describe the opening, but do not establish a universal fruit count or stun threshold.

Game8 describes several attacks to watch for. Look for the wind-up, evade the committed move, and retaliate while the boss recovers rather than trying to trade hits.
- Dendro projectile: Watch for the ranged attack and move out of its path.
- Spinning charge: The boss commits to a fast spinning rush; dodge clear of its route instead of staying close to attack.
- Grapple-and-smash: Evade the grab and follow-up slam, then attack once the sequence ends.
- Flamegranate sequence: Keep your attention on the fruit and use the Pyro interaction before the boss consumes it.
What rewards to expect
GameWith lists Overripe Flamegranate and Nagadus Emerald materials among the boss rewards. Reward tables and character material needs can change as Genshin Impact updates, so check the current Adventurer’s Handbook or the relevant character’s material page before planning a long farming session.
