1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo build a second base in Palworld, unlock another base slot by completing the objectives in your first Palbox, then craft and place a new Palbox. Current 1.0-era references list the second slot at Base Level 8, but older guides say Level 10, so check the requirement shown in your own Palbox. Your guild or server’s base limit can also prevent placement.
Unlock another base slot
- Open your first Palbox. Review the outstanding base-level objectives. Base progression comes from completing the objectives shown there, such as construction and Pal deployment—not from raising your character level. See the Palworld Wiki’s base progression overview.
- Complete the objectives until another slot is available. Current 1.0-era references list the second base slot at Base Level 8. Older guidance reports Level 10, so use the requirement displayed in your Palbox for your game version and save. The Wiki also lists further slots at Base Levels 15 and 25 under default settings.
The Level 8 threshold is reported by the Palworld Wiki and an independent guide that says it verified its information on patch 1.0.3 (Palworld Breeding). The older Level 10 claim appears in earlier-era guidance and player discussion (Sick Retina, February 6, 2024; Reddit discussion). Treat the in-game Palbox display as the practical authority for your world.

Craft and place the second Palbox
Gather the materials
The listed Palbox recipe is one Paldium Fragment, eight Wood, and three Stone. The Palbox establishes the base and serves as its central structure. See the Palbox and Building entries on the Palworld Wiki.
Choose a site and place it
Travel to the area you want to develop and place the Palbox there. Choose a site based on what you want the base to do: resource gathering or production, buildable terrain, travel convenience, and how it complements your first base. There is no universally best second-base location; the right choice depends on your goals and current map conditions.

Check the base limit if placement fails
Unlocking a slot through base progression and the world or server’s base cap are separate constraints. A placement can be blocked if your guild has already reached its limit, even when the Palbox indicates another progression slot is available.
On a dedicated server, the official Palworld server configuration guide documents BaseCampMaxNumInGuild as the maximum bases per guild and BaseCampMaxNum as the total across the server. The version 1.0.4 page lists a default guild limit of four and a maximum of ten; raising the limit increases processing load. World and server settings may differ.
Quick Recap
Rank #2
- Check the slot availability shown in your Palbox.
- Check how many bases your guild already has.
- If you are on a dedicated server, ask the administrator to check the server’s base limits.
