What did Phasmophobia announce for 2025? Kinetic Games’ roadmap promised Chronicle, a player-character overhaul, a new small map, farmhouse and Tanglewood reworks, and seasonal events. Several plans shifted: Chronicle launched in June, Nell’s Diner arrived in November, the Player Character Update missed its 2025 target, and Tanglewood’s rework moved into March 2026. The roadmap was explicitly a work-in-progress plan, not a guarantee.
What did Phasmophobia announce for 2025?
Kinetic Games published its 2025 roadmap on February 10, 2025, organizing planned work around major updates, maps and reworks, and seasonal events. The studio cautioned that the information and images were still in development and could change. That distinction matters: the roadmap records what the team intended at the time, while its later announcements show what launched and when.
Chronicle: a new way to record evidence
The first major update was Chronicle, designed to change how investigators captured and were rewarded for evidence. The Journal was to gain a Media tab for photos, videos, and a new Sound Recorder. Kinetic Games announced a June 24, 2025 launch across platforms; its release announcement later confirmed Chronicle was live for Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, and Xbox Series X/S.
Player Character Overhaul
The roadmap proposed refreshed character models, improved animations, and a better overall character experience. It treated full player customization as a separate 2026 plan rather than part of the 2025 overhaul. In December, the studio said the Player Character Update had missed its original 2025 date.

A new small map and familiar-location reworks
The map plan included a new small location, a March rework of Bleasdale Farmhouse, and later-year reworks for Grafton Farmhouse and 6 Tanglewood Drive. Kinetic Games also said future maps would stay relatively small so it could release them more regularly. The initial roadmap did not name the new map; an August development preview later identified it as Nell’s Diner.
Seasonal events
The plan called for a new take on Easter and the return of Blood Moon for Halloween and Krampus for Winter’s Jest. The first 2025 community-event announcement, Cursed Hollow, described personal and community goals, rotating event maps, and gameplay modifiers.

Which roadmap updates actually arrived in 2025?
Official launch announcements and the developer’s news archive make the clearest distinction between the original schedule and later delivery:

How did the map plans take shape?
Nell’s Diner: the new location
Kinetic Games named Nell’s Diner in its August 5 development preview and described it as slightly larger than 6 Tanglewood Drive. The developer’s archive later lists the diner’s release in November 2025. Its size comparison suggests the studio was keeping to its stated preference for relatively compact maps, rather than presenting it as a large-scale location.
Grafton, Bleasdale and Tanglewood
Grafton’s rework received a specific August 12, 2025 launch date in the August preview. The roadmap had targeted Bleasdale for March and Tanglewood for later in the year; the archive places Tanglewood’s rework in March 2026. The available official details establish those planned and recorded dates, but do not provide a comparable breakdown of room density, interaction opportunities, or layout changes across all three reworks.

What changed in the event plan?
The roadmap framed seasonal events as recurring parts of the year: a new Easter approach, Blood Moon for Halloween, and the return of Krampus for Winter’s Jest. Cursed Hollow showed how the community-event format could combine individual progress with shared objectives. Its announced ingredients were:
- Personal goals alongside community goals.
- Maps that rotated during the event.
- Gameplay modifiers that changed the investigation experience.
That structure is more specific than simply promising a seasonal theme: players had individual and collective objectives, while map rotation and modifiers varied the event itself. The roadmap’s named seasonal plans and Cursed Hollow’s format are distinct pieces of the 2025 event picture; the Cursed Hollow announcement does not, by itself, confirm the delivery schedule for every later seasonal event.

What the 2025 roadmap means in retrospect
The roadmap was a useful statement of direction, but not a fixed calendar. Chronicle and Nell’s Diner are confirmed examples of major 2025 delivery; Grafton received a dated launch announcement; the Player Character Update missed its original year, and Tanglewood’s rework appears in the archive in March 2026. For players, the most reliable way to read a roadmap is as a set of intentions, then check later official announcements for launch confirmation and schedule changes.
