The current official Windows ZIP download for Yandere Simulator is listed at 2.82 GB. That is the archive size, not the amount of free space the developer advises for installation: the developer lists 5 GB minimum and 6 GB recommended available storage.
How much space does Yandere Simulator need?

For a practical download and installation, use the developer’s 6 GB recommended free-space figure as your target. The ZIP is a compressed package, while the storage guidance concerns available disk space; the two numbers measure different things.
Why do the size figures differ?
The official download page offers two ways to get the Windows game: a small launcher or a direct ZIP archive. The launcher is only the download mechanism, so its 15 MB size is not the size of the game. The 2.82 GB figure is the listed ZIP package size; the 5 GB minimum and 6 GB recommended figures are the developer’s separate advice for available storage.
Yandere Simulator is still being developed and updated. Its download page says it is “continuously developed and updated with new content over time,” so the listed archive size can change. Treat 2.82 GB as the current listing, not a permanent specification.

Which size figure should you trust?
A third-party installation guide published January 28, 2026, says to have 2 GB free. That conflicts with both the official page’s 2.82 GB ZIP listing and the developer’s 5 GB minimum storage guidance. For planning, follow the developer’s figures rather than the lower third-party estimate.
The developer describes Yandere Simulator as a PC-only game and lists Windows 10/11 on its download page. These size figures therefore refer to the Windows version, not a console or mobile edition.
