Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4: Shock ‘N Awesome began August 7, 2025, bringing three specifically named new points of interest to the existing Island, a bug-fighting weapon lineup, rank-gated Exotic gear and Queen encounter rewards. Epic’s announcement describes highlighted additions, not a complete list of every weapon vaulted or unvaulted.
When Shock ‘N Awesome ran—and what “new map” means
Epic Games’ August 6, 2025 announcement said, “Chapter 6 Season 4 starts August 7.” The post later gives the season’s end as November 1, 2025, Eastern Time. These dates describe this past season, not the current Fortnite Island or loot pool.
“New map” here means new locations on the existing Island, not a wholesale replacement of it. Epic specifically identifies three new POIs: The Hive, O.X.R. HQ and Ranger’s Ruin. Its announcement does not provide a text inventory of every location that remained, changed or disappeared.
The three new POIs
The Hive
Epic describes high insect activity here and advises players to bring ammunition. The Hive is also one of the three locations where players could face a Queen for a Mythic weapon and Medallion.

O.X.R. HQ
This is the base of the O.X.R., the season’s anti-bug force. Its main building contains the commanders’ battle-ops hub, while the O.X.R. Armory sells weapons and other items for Bars.
Ranger’s Ruin
Once an O.X.R. weapons lab, Ranger’s Ruin had been overtaken by the infestation. Epic described it as a loot-rich location; it was also a Queen encounter site.
Weapons and special gear highlighted at launch
Epic’s season post highlighted these anti-bug weapons: the Leadspitter 3000 minigun, Sweeper Shotgun, O.X.R. Rifle, Wrecker Revolver and laser-guided Swarmstrike rocket launcher. It also featured the Bug Blaster, which fires explosive plasma projectiles or a charged shot. This is a list of season highlights, not a complete launch-day inventory.
Rank-gated bunker Exotics
Reaching O.X.R. Rank A unlocked O.X.R. Bunkers containing the following named Exotics:
- Eradicator O.X.R. Rifle: successive hits on an enemy increase its damage.
- Double Trouble: two shotguns that can be swapped without delay for double-pumping.
- Shock n’ Slow Shockwave Launcher: its Shockwave Grenades slow airborne enemies and allies.
- Marksman Wrecker Revolver: a Wrecker variant with faster hip fire and a higher headshot multiplier.
- Exotic Slap Berry Fizz: a Flowberry Fizz variant that also grants Slap.
Queen encounters: Mythic weapons and Medallions
Epic named three Queen encounter locations and paired each with a Mythic weapon and a Medallion:

| Encounter location | Mythic weapon | Medallion | Documented benefit |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Hive | Enhanced Wrecker Revolver | Surge Medallion | Health or shield sustain |
| Demon’s Domain | O.X.R. Assault Rifle | Springleg Medallion | Double jump and fall-damage immunity |
| Ranger’s Ruin | Sweeper Shotgun | Carapace Medallion | Movement benefit |
Demon’s Domain appears in Epic’s list of Queen encounter sites, but not in its three-item list of new POIs. The announcement establishes its reward role; it does not identify it as a new location. Epic describes Medallions as providing movement, jumping, health or shield benefits. Carrying one made the player visible on opponents’ mini-maps; carrying more narrowed the displayed location radius.

Players started each match at shared party Rank C and could advance through B, A, S and S+ by fighting bugs, eliminating opponents and opening chests. Each rank-up sent a loot-filled O.X.R. Drop Pod with a Super Soldier Boon. Rank A unlocked the bunkers with Exotic weapons; at S+, a Drop Pod was guaranteed to include a Mythic weapon. Epic’s post gives that guarantee but does not specify other drop probabilities.
Boons were available in O.X.R. Chests and Hive Sacs, Drop Pods, or as rewards for mid-match objectives. The announcement describes effects including reduced recoil and spread while aiming, larger magazines, Storm-circle forecasting, and rank-based boosts to sprinting, reloading and weapon handling.

Epic’s launch announcement presented these as future additions and did not give an exact release date for the Power Rangers Blade Blaster:
- Roly Poly: a rolling, bouncing transport that can charge for a speed burst.
- Hammerhead Choppa: can briefly hover while occupants switch seats.
- Power Rangers Blade Blaster: an energy pistol with quick-tap fire or charged bursts.
Does Epic’s announcement list every weapon added or removed?
No. The official post documents highlighted weapons, rank-gated Exotics, Queen rewards and planned additions, but it does not enumerate every weapon vaulted or unvaulted at launch. It therefore cannot support a comprehensive list of all loot-pool changes. The weapon names and mechanics above are the additions and reward details the announcement specifically establishes.
