After the Boiler Room starts, use the panel switch to send steam through one selected doorway at a time.
Before you start
The Boiler Room must be drafted for its power system to function. Its job is to supply steam power to connected rooms; the Room Directory describes it as “A utility room serving as a central hub for controlling the heating and steam power supplied to various rooms of the estate,” as quoted on the Blue Prince Wiki.

How to activate the Boiler Room

Activate tank A
Interact with tank A’s red gauge to turn it on.

Expose and activate tank B
Set switcher 1 so tank A feeds switcher 2. Turn switcher 2 until steam runs the conveyor in front of tank B. Change the connection to stop the conveyor and expose tank B’s gauge, then interact with the gauge. If it is still blocked, adjust switcher 2 to cycle the conveyor until the gauge is accessible.

Use the elevator to reach tank C
Route tank B’s steam to power the elevator, then ride it to the upper floor. Activate tank C there. The Blue Prince Wiki says this also opens the sealed door.

Route the tanks into the main tank
Set tank C’s lever toward the main tank. Return to the lower floor and configure the switchers to extend the bridge, then set tank B’s lever to feed the main tank. Check the control panel: all three tank indicators should be lit.

Start the system
Go to the upper-floor control panel and press ACTIVATE. The sequence is also described in the GameSpot Boiler Room guide, which likewise identifies the active tanks as a prerequisite for the final button press.

Route steam to a room
Starting the Boiler Room and choosing where its steam goes are separate actions. Once the system is active, use the control-panel switch to select a doorway. Steam is routed through one doorway at a time; the Blue Prince Wiki lists the Laboratory and Pump Room among the rooms that can use Boiler Room power. Choose the connected destination that serves the room or puzzle you want to power.

The Blue Prince Wiki reports that the machine stays powered for the rest of the in-game day even if a tank’s steam supply is later cut. It also says the installed components make reactivation easier on later days. Those are guide descriptions of the game’s behavior, rather than developer-confirmed instructions.
