The Pokémon Day 2024 presentation announced Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Its official announcement described a plan to redevelop Lumiose City so people and Pokémon can share the city. It did not identify a specific historical era, so the reveal alone does not establish whether the game is set in the past or the future.

The original announcement listed a 2025 release window for Nintendo Switch systems. That was the window stated in 2024, not a current release-date update. Read The Pokémon Company International’s Pokémon Day 2024 announcement.
Is Pokémon Legends: Z-A coming to Nintendo Switch?
Yes. Nintendo’s official game page identifies a Nintendo Switch version and describes the Lumiose City redevelopment premise. The original announcement said the game would be available for Nintendo Switch systems; it did not say that a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition would be the only way to play.
