A published guide says you cannot select a different wand after leaving Ollivanders. You can change the appearance of your wand handle later, but that does not change the wand configuration you chose at the ceremony.
Does your wand choice matter in Hogwarts Legacy?
According to GameRevolution’s guide, choosing a particular wand does not affect gameplay. The available evidence does not establish a gameplay advantage for any wood, core, length, or flexibility, so there is no supported build reason to choose one over another. The guide notes that an NPC may refer to a wand core, but reports only a limited dialogue impact; this is secondary-guide reporting, not an official developer specification. Can you change your wand after the ceremony?
GameRevolution reports that once you leave Ollivanders, you cannot select a different wand. WB Games gives a related qualification for players who import a Harry Potter Fan Club wand: it is used as the default selection, but you can modify it before the ceremony ends. Treat the ceremony as your opportunity to settle the wand configuration you want; the post-ceremony option confirmed by official support is handle appearance customization, not a reset of the wand itself. What can you change later?
Portkey Games Support says wand-handle appearance can be changed after you gather supplies during your first trip to Hogsmeade and complete “Welcome to Hogsmeade.” This changes the handle’s look; the support guidance does not say it changes the wand’s wood, core, length, or flexibility. What if you imported a Harry Potter Fan Club wand?
WB Games says linking your Harry Potter Fan Club and WB Games accounts can bring a custom wand into the game as the default choice, and that you may modify the selection before the ceremony ends. The official Hogwarts Legacy FAQ also says account linking can import your wand and house. Linking therefore supplies a starting preference, not a mandatory final wand selection.

Pick the wand details you prefer for their look or personal meaning. If you are still at Ollivanders, make any changes before completing the ceremony. If your only regret is the handle’s appearance, the later handle customization is the relevant option; the official support information does not establish a way to replace the underlying wand configuration.
