Zeraora is caught during the postgame Raging Lightning mission in the Mega Dimension DLC. Finish both the base-game and DLC stories, complete the Diancie and Mewtwo quests, then trade Canari Bread for Popping Candy and use it to unlock the Plasma-Glazed Donut recipe. The donut leads to a Hyperspace battle with Rogue Mega Zeraora; Nintendo Life’s guide says the catch is guaranteed after you defeat it.
What you need before starting
This is a DLC postgame encounter, not an early-game catch. The Pokémon Company’s Mega Dimension page presents Mega Zeraora as part of the additional story content, which follows the base-game main story.

How to unlock the Raging Lightning mission
Spoiler warning: The steps below reveal the quest chain and its final encounter.
- Buy Canari Bread. Go to Racine Construction, speak to Tarragon, and buy Canari Bread for 1,300 Poké Dollars, as reported in Nintendo Life’s quest guide.
- Trade it for Popping Candy. Find the boy on the rooftop of the C-shaped building in Vert Sector 3, to the right of Wild Zone 2. The guide’s route is to warp to Café Cyclone, go left through an opening into the courtyard, use the transporter to reach the roof, climb the construction structure, then jump to the blue rooftops and follow them left. Give the boy the bread to receive Popping Candy.
- Give the candy to Ansha. Return to Hotel Z and hand the Popping Candy to Ansha. She provides the Plasma-Glazed Donut recipe.
- Make the donut to the required flavor values. The target values are 40 sweet, 200 spicy, 400 sour, 280 bitter, and 40 fresh. One combination Nintendo Life reports is 4 Hyper Kasib Berries, 2 Hyper Chilan Berries, 1 Hyper Charti Berry, and 1 Hyper Babiri Berry. Other combinations may meet the targets, so this ingredient list is not the only valid option.
- Go to the train station. Making the donut triggers a call and starts Raging Lightning. Follow the mission to the train station and enter the Hyperspace pocket with Emma and Korrina.
How to beat Rogue Mega Zeraora
Nintendo Life describes the fight as difficult and recommends saving beforehand, bringing healing items, and taking a powerful Ground-type Pokémon that can Mega Evolve; Excadrill and Golurk are examples in its guide. Keep moving to avoid the arena-wide electrical attacks.
