For the standard PC, Mac, and PlayStation subscription options, sign in to the FINAL FANTASY XIV Mog Station, choose a subscription tier and billing period, then select a payment method available to your account. You can also add time with a game time card or code—but not on the Entry tier. Nintendo Switch 2 uses a separate payment path through FFXIV Coins.
Buy or renew a standard FFXIV subscription
- Open the FINAL FANTASY XIV Mog Station and sign in with the Square Enix account linked to your game.
- Choose the subscription type and period you want. Check the character limits as well as the price; Entry and Standard are not identical apart from billing duration.
- Select a payment method offered for your account and region, then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the purchase or set up recurring billing.
Square Enix lists credit or debit cards, Square Enix Crysta, and game time cards or codes among the payment methods for the standard subscriptions. The options available to you can vary by region and account. The North America product page, accessed October 8, 2026, lists the following US-dollar prices; Square Enix says subscription fees may change under the User Agreement.

Use a game time card or code
A game time card or code adds subscription time without using a payment card for that transaction. There is one important restriction: Square Enix states, “A Game Time Card/Game Time Code cannot be used on the Entry membership tier.” If you want to redeem a code, make sure your membership tier supports it before buying.

What to try if a payment is declined
Square Enix’s payment notice names Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Amazon Pay, and Paysafecard as methods available in the described payment-processor context. It says Discover, JCB, Carte Bleue, and SEPA (Sofort) are unavailable following the processor change, and cautions that methods may not be offered in every country. Check the options displayed in your own account rather than assuming a listed method is available in your region.
- Verify that the payment method and account region are supported by the payment screen you are using.
- Check whether your bank or payment provider is asking you to complete a fraud or identity verification step.
- If the transaction still fails, contact Square Enix support or try another option shown for your account. No alternative is guaranteed to work for every player.
For a reported issue affecting some North America prepaid-card transactions, Square Enix suggested Amazon Pay, PayPal to purchase Crysta, or game time codes as alternatives. That notice concerned a particular issue; it is not a promise that those options will resolve every declined payment.

Paying on Nintendo Switch 2
Switch 2 subscriptions follow a separate process: Square Enix says players must purchase FFXIV Coins through the Nintendo eShop to pay for that version. A separate Switch 2 subscription is required even if you already subscribe on another platform. Square Enix’s notice also describes a half-price Switch 2 subscription for players with remaining game time on other platforms, subject to the notice’s terms; check the current Switch 2 subscription notice for eligibility and conditions.
