Check that you can access The Indigo Disk
You need the full Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game and the matching version of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero: Scarlet DLC requires Scarlet, and Violet DLC requires Violet. Nintendo says you must also finish the main game, view the credits, and complete The Teal Mask events before accessing The Indigo Disk. Find the swirling-leaf grove
Travel to the Coastal Biome in the Terarium and look for a grove where leaves circle in a visible gust. Nintendo Life places it between the Coastal Outdoor Classroom and the Coastal Rest Area; the leaf swirl is the clearest landmark to follow. The guide’s location and encounter steps are in its Meloetta guide.
Make Meloetta appear
- Stand in the center of the gust. Adjust your position until the leaves circle around your character.
- Spin in place. Published guides differ on timing: Nintendo Life suggests about 10 seconds, while Gamer Guides recommends around 30 seconds if needed. The exact minimum is not established. If nothing happens, reposition slightly and try a longer spin.
- Open the Rotom Phone camera promptly. Choose the Sepia filter, then pan around the grove to look for Meloetta. Guides report that her singing or a music change can signal that the trigger worked.
- Exit the camera and interact with Meloetta. This starts the battle. Nearby wild Pokémon may interrupt the sequence, so repeat the steps if necessary.
Gamer Guides also describes the location and sequence, and suggests the longer spin when needed: Gamer Guides’ Meloetta instructions. Reports that you must speak to a particular NPC or play specific music are not established as requirements.

Prepare for the battle and Meloetta’s forms
Save before interacting if you want to preserve the option of retrying for a preferred capture attempt. A guide reports that the encounter begins with Meloetta in Aria Forme. Using Relic Song in battle changes her temporarily to Pirouette Forme; she returns to Aria Forme when switched out or when the battle ends, according to Siliconera’s form-change guide.
