Pokémon Go’s Cyndaquil Community Day Classic took place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Cyndaquil appeared more often in the wild, and evolving Quilava during the event or within two hours after it ended produced a Typhlosion that knew Blast Burn. This is a guide to the 2024 event, not an announcement of a future rerun.
When was Cyndaquil Community Day Classic?
Niantic scheduled the event for Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The times were local to each player, rather than one worldwide time window. Niantic’s event announcement and The Pokémon Company’s June 18, 2024 recap describe this past event.
No later Cyndaquil rerun is established by those announcements. For a new event date or rerun, check Pokémon GO’s current official announcements.
Which Pokémon appeared, and could it be shiny?
Cyndaquil was the featured Pokémon and appeared more frequently in the wild. The Pokémon GO team said, “Cyndaquil will appear more frequently in the wild.” Shiny Cyndaquil could be encountered, but the event announcement did not give a shiny probability or a specific encounter-rate figure.

How to get Blast Burn on Typhlosion
Evolve Quilava during the event or within the two hours after it ended to get a Typhlosion that knew the Charged Attack Blast Burn. For this event, that meant the evolution deadline was 7:00 p.m. local time on June 22, 2024. Niantic listed Blast Burn at 110 power in Trainer Battles and 110 power in Gyms and raids.
This was the Cyndaquil event’s specific deadline. Niantic’s general Community Day help page describes general event mechanics and may reflect a different post-event evolution window; it should not replace the rule in the 2024 Cyndaquil announcement.
