Its headline feature was the debut of Dudunsparce: evolve Dunsparce using 50 Dunsparce Candy. Players also received double Candy for catching Pokémon and double XP for evolving them, alongside boosted—but unquantified—chances to encounter Shiny Dunsparce and Ditto. Niantic has not confirmed a 2026 edition in the official announcement cited here.
When was the Completely Normal event?
Niantic’s 2025 event ran Tuesday, September 23, through Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. The event is over, so its timed bonuses, research deadlines, and event ticket are no longer available. See Niantic’s official announcement, published September 8, 2025.
What were the main bonuses?
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 2× XP for evolving Pokémon.
- An increased chance to encounter Shiny Dunsparce.
- An increased chance to encounter Ditto.
Niantic did not publish numerical odds for the shiny or Ditto boosts, so the announcement does not support a specific encounter rate.
How did players get Dudunsparce?
Dudunsparce made its Pokémon GO debut during the event. Evolving Dunsparce into Dudunsparce required 50 Dunsparce Candy. The double catch-Candy bonus applied during the event, making catches one way to work toward that requirement.

Is there a 2026 Completely Normal event?
A third-party events archive lists a Completely Normal event for September 23–27, 2026, but that listing is not confirmation from Niantic. The official source cited for this guide covers only the 2025 event; its dates, bonuses, encounters, and ticket details should not be treated as applying to 2026. The archive listing can be viewed at GO Center’s events archive.

Niantic’s 2025 announcement said Ditto were changing into different Pokémon in the wild and that the change would continue after the event, but it did not list the disguise pool. That announcement therefore cannot establish which Pokémon Ditto transforms from.
