It introduced Nacli, Naclstack and Garganacl, rotated wild encounters by day, and featured region-specific Paldean Tauros in raids. The event and its paid Timed Research ended at 8:00 p.m. local time on December 9, 2025.
When was Journey to Paldea?
Niantic ran the event from Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. until Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Its encounters, bonuses and ticketed research are no longer available.
Which Pokémon debuted?
Nacli, Naclstack and Garganacl made their Pokémon GO debut during the event. The evolution costs were:
- Evolve Nacli into Naclstack with 25 Nacli Candy.
- Evolve Naclstack into Garganacl with 100 Nacli Candy.
These candy requirements were listed in Niantic’s Journey to Paldea announcement.

What bonuses and wild Pokémon were featured?
Niantic announced two event bonuses: 2× XP for winning Raid Battles and 2× XP for evolving Pokémon. The event also increased the chance of encountering Shiny Larvitar and Shiny Bagon, but the announcement did not give a numeric shiny rate.
Nymble, Pawmi and Smoliv could appear in the wild throughout the event; Nacli was also a possible encounter. Other featured Pokémon rotated across the event dates:

“And more” was part of Niantic’s announcement, so these are examples, not a complete encounter list. The December 2 featured window began at 10:00 a.m. local time, and the December 9 window ended at 8:00 p.m. local time. On December 6 and 7, December Community Day Pokémon appeared from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
Which Pokémon appeared in raids?
Three-star raids featured Bombirdier and Dondozo, as well as one Paldean Tauros breed determined by location:

The three Tauros breeds were not all available in the same region. Niantic’s announcement did not provide raid counters, raid CP ranges or individual shiny odds.
What did Field Research and Collection Challenges reward?
Niantic said event-themed Field Research offered encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Catch-themed Collection Challenges awarded XP, Stardust and an event-themed encounter.

For task-level details, the secondary event reference Leek Duck’s Journey to Paldea listing reported Nacli encounters for “Catch 5 different species of Pokémon” and “Power up Pokémon 10 times,” and possible Larvitar or Bagon encounters for “Make 10 Great Throws.” It also listed Scarlet and Violet Collection Challenges, each awarding 5,000 XP, 3,000 Stardust and an encounter.

The historical Timed Research ticket cost US$1.99 or the equivalent local price. Niantic listed 3,000 Stardust, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters including Larvitar, Bagon and Nacli among its rewards. Players had to finish the tasks and claim the rewards by December 9, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time; the research has expired.

Niantic also advertised a Journey to Paldea Ultra Ticket Box for US$1.99 or local equivalent. It included the event ticket and five Ultra Balls at no additional cost. That offer has expired as well. The announcement is available on the official Pokémon GO event page.
