Choose Paradis if you prefer a story in which they face suspicion but use their agricultural knowledge to earn a place in the community. The decision, made at the end of Ancient Soil, changes an ending epilogue screen; guides report no direct gameplay benefit either way. A separate later choice can put people in Thirdborn at risk.
When do you choose where the animancers go?
At the end of the main quest Ancient Soil, you discuss the surviving animancers’ next home with Governor Pere Quilicci and Yatzli. You can send them to Thirdborn or Paradis. Game8 reports that the choice appears whether or not you saved Fior mes Iverno (Game8’s choice guide; AEL Games’ quest-choice guide).
What happens if you send them to Thirdborn?
The animancers relocate to Shatterscarp. Game8 describes this outcome as allowing for greater equality between animancers and locals, while Gamer Guides says Thirdborn appears more accommodating of animancy than Paradis (Game8; Gamer Guides). It suits a preference for continued animancy and integration, but it is not an unconditional safety choice: a separate decision in the later quest Shadows of the Past can lead to deaths in Thirdborn, potentially including Fior refugees.
What happens if you send them to Paradis?
The animancers settle near the Steel Garrote’s home. Gamer Guides describes a community where animancy is frowned upon amid a growing Aedyrian presence, but where the animancers’ agricultural expertise can help them earn acceptance (Gamer Guides; AEL Games). Choose Paradis if that difficult-integration story—contributing through farming despite local suspicion—fits the outcome you want.

Does the choice affect gameplay, rewards, or achievements?
Game8 reports that the destination changes one ending epilogue screen, not gameplay. AEL Games reports no achievement or reward tied to either option (Game8; AEL Games). The guides do not establish a quest reward, combat advantage, or new playable content for either destination, so treat this as a narrative choice rather than a gameplay optimization.
