That setting puts you in the PC crossplay matchmaking pool; keyboard and mouse are not allowed in the Xbox-only or console-crossplay pools. These instructions reflect Ubisoft’s native-support guidance for Y11S2.2, launched July 14, 2026.
How to use keyboard and mouse on R6 Xbox
- Connect a keyboard and mouse to your Xbox. Ubisoft’s instructions say to connect the devices to the console. Xbox documents wired USB keyboard and mouse support for navigation in select games and apps, but that does not guarantee compatibility for every device. See Ubisoft’s Siege setup instructions and Xbox’s keyboard and mouse guidance.
- In Siege, open Crossplay & Input Devices and choose PC & Consoles. If you connect the devices while another matchmaking pool is selected, the game detects them and prompts you to change the setting.
- If you want to adjust your aim or layout, open Options and use the Controls section to change mouse sensitivity or remap controls. Ubisoft confirms those controls are available but does not prescribe sensitivity values.
- Use the connected keyboard for text chat if needed; Ubisoft says console players can do this.
Which matchmaking pool do you enter?
The input setting is tied to matchmaking. Choosing keyboard and mouse does not enable them in console-only matchmaking: you must opt into PC & Consoles, where PC players and console players using that pool can be matched together.

Ubisoft’s native-support article explains the input and pool rules; the Y11S2.2 patch notes also state that keyboard and mouse are allowed in the PC crossplay pool and forbidden in the other pools.
How squads, training, and custom games work
Squads
The squad leader’s Crossplay & Input Devices setting determines the squad’s matchmaking pool and allowed input. Squad members are notified before the match. If a PC player joins the squad, the setting is locked to PC & Consoles.

Training and offline playlists
Set the pool to PC & Consoles to use keyboard and mouse in training and offline playlists.
Local Custom Games
For a Local Custom Game, the lobby host can choose the allowed input devices under Match Setup.

What if you connect the devices after a match starts?
Connecting a keyboard and mouse after you are already in a console-only match will not enable them for that match. Ubisoft says only the controller will continue to work; change the pool before starting another match.
Do not use an adapter to bypass the pool rules
Ubisoft says devices that spoof controller input while a player uses keyboard and mouse on console violate its Code of Conduct. Its MouseTrap and input-spoofing guidance says players receive multiple warnings, and continued use can result in a one-year ban. Ubisoft also says it cannot lift MouseTrap bans. Use the game’s native PC & Consoles option instead.

Choosing a keyboard and mouse
A wired USB keyboard and mouse are a reasonable starting point, but Xbox describes compatibility as applying to select games and apps, not every peripheral or game. Check the seller’s Xbox compatibility details before buying; Ubisoft’s Siege instructions cover connecting devices but do not certify particular models.
