Scott Adams’s June 13, 2025 preview for The Outerhaven estimates the demo takes about an hour to play; that is one reviewer’s estimate, not an official duration. The demo save can carry over to the full game, which launched July 15, 2025.
What the EDENS ZERO demo includes
Adams describes a short sequence that mixes a combat tutorial with an introduction to the story and exploration. The tutorial takes place later in the story aboard Elsie’s ship, where Shiki fights waves of enemies and encounters simple platforming. The demo then returns to the beginning on Granbell, where Shiki meets Rebecca and faces hostile robots before a boss encounter.

After that opening stretch, the preview reaches Blue Garden. Adams reports that the area includes a minimap, collectible lights, roaming enemy encounters, and a system for selecting party members. His account describes the demo, not a comprehensive inventory of everything in the finished game.
How combat feels in the preview
In Adams’s account, Shiki’s basic combat includes a three-hit light-attack chain, two heavy attacks, and a skill that runs on cooldown. His initial skill uses gravity to pull nearby enemies together. Bosses have a guard gauge: deplete it to stun them and create an opening for damage. The preview also describes a timed perfect dodge that briefly slows the action and enables a counterattack.

Shiki or Rebecca?
The demo lets players try both characters. Adams describes Shiki as the heavier hitter, but says his close-range attacks left him more exposed. Rebecca, who fights with dual pistols and can temporarily switch to a faster-firing assault rifle, felt more mobile to the reviewer. He preferred her style. That is a personal impression from one preview, not a controlled character comparison.
How long is the demo, and does progress transfer?
Adams estimates the demo takes about an hour. KONAMI does not state an official playtime in the cited demo announcement, so treat the figure as a rough estimate rather than a promise. The EDENS ZERO official site’s trial-version announcement, dated June 12, 2025, confirms that demo saved data can be carried over to the full game.

Where to play and what happened after the demo
The official site lists the trial version for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and Steam. KONAMI’s July 15, 2025 launch announcement confirms the full game released worldwide on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam/Windows. KONAMI describes it as an action RPG featuring real-time combat, Ether Gear abilities, planet exploration, and Shiki’s search for Mother.
KONAMI says the game is available in physical and digital editions. The existence of a physical PS5 edition does not establish current retailer stock or pricing; check local listings for availability.

What this preview can—and cannot—tell you
This is a preview of the trial version, not a review of the finished game. It gives a taste of the opening story, a small exploration area, and several combat mechanics, with a subjective comparison of Shiki and Rebecca. It does not establish full-game performance differences between platforms, such as resolution or frame rate. The Steam listing provides Windows requirements and identifies the game as single-player; store specifications and regional listings can change.
