In Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), characters are called Agents. The roster changes with game updates, so a reliable list should say which client version, language, and date it covers—and should distinguish playable Agents from characters who are only upcoming, event-only, or story appearances.
What “Agents” means in Zenless Zone Zero
“Agents” is the game’s term for its character roster. Because “Characters (Agents) List” can refer to more than one game, this guide is specifically about Zenless Zone Zero. HoYoverse’s official character directory is useful for checking displayed names and faction associations, but it is a living directory rather than a dated export of every playable character.
Why a current playable list needs a version and date
ZZZ’s roster changes as the game receives updates. HoYoverse’s official game site publishes dated update information, but the directory does not establish a complete, stable playable roster for a particular English-client build. A list that claims to be complete should therefore identify the client version or build, language, and date checked, and verify playable status in that client.
Third-party roster pages can help with browsing, but their contents may reflect different update windows or include unreleased and event-only characters. For example, Game8 presents a roster in a stated version context; that version-specific listing should not be treated as a timeless count or as confirmation of what is playable in a later client.

How to read or build a useful Agents list
For comparisons, organize playable entries by the details players use to identify and evaluate them:
- Name: Use the displayed in-game name and keep localization consistent.
- Faction: Record the organization associated with the Agent; the official directory is a useful cross-check for its listed faction associations.
- Attribute: Include the character’s listed attribute or element.
- Specialty: Use the game’s combat-specialty category.
- Type and rarity: Include these when the list is intended to support filtering or roster comparison.
- Version and checked date: Add the client version, language, and date so readers can tell which roster snapshot the entry belongs to.
These categories are used in roster guides such as Game8’s ZZZ Agents guide. Treat third-party lists as navigation aids, then confirm that an Agent is playable in the client version you are covering.

Keep playable Agents separate from other character appearances
A character’s appearance in a directory, story, or event does not by itself establish that the character is currently playable. Keep unreleased or upcoming characters, event-only material, and story-only appearances in clearly labeled sections rather than mixing them into a current playable roster. This matters because roster guides may use “all characters” to include entries beyond those currently available to recruit or use.
For a roster-maintenance approach, Position Is Everything’s character-list guide recommends recording fields such as displayed name, faction, attribute, rarity, source version, and collection date. Those are practical tracking fields, not an official HoYoverse roster specification.

What the available official listing can—and cannot—confirm
HoYoverse’s directory includes names such as Severian Lowell and factions such as the Metropolitan Order Division and Krampus Compliance Authority. Its entries and faction associations can help verify what appears on the official page, but the directory alone does not establish a definitive set or count of every character currently playable in the English client. Do not use directory membership as a substitute for checking in-client availability.
