To complete Mob Mentality in Borderlands 4, start the mission at Belter’s Bore, get past Numba One to speak with The Boss at The Pit, retrieve the battery at Thirst Scrap to open Pickett’s back room, then collect the mask from the marked dead drop at Gilded Drop. Return to The Pit, defeat the attackers and hand the mask to The Boss.
Start Mob Mentality at Belter’s Bore
The side mission becomes available after the main mission Shadow of the Mountain. In the Low Leys area of Terminus Range, go to Belter’s Bore and interact with the ECHO Log near the vending machines to start it. Get into The Boss’s office at The Pit
Follow the objective marker to The Pit and enter. Numba One blocks the direct route to the office. The walkthroughs describe two ways around him:
| Route | What to do |
|---|---|
| Drink route | Go to the bar, get Numba One’s drink, and throw it to make him move so you can reach the office. |
| Balcony route | Go upstairs to the balcony and glide across to the office. |
Both routes lead to The Boss. Speak with him to advance the mission. Directions are corroborated by PowerPyx and Game8.

Reach Thirst Scrap and open Pickett’s back room
- Travel to Thirst Scrap using the objective marker and defeat the Manglers in the area.
- Enter the building and speak with Pickett.
- Go outside and grapple up to the ledge or platform.
- From there, grapple down to retrieve the battery.
- Place the battery in the mechanism by the powered line. This opens the entrance to the back room.
- Go inside and speak with Pickett again.
The battery mechanism is the route into the back room; the objective marker helps orient you between the named locations. This sequence is described by Game8 and Nightly Gaming Binge.
Find the mask at Gilded Drop
Follow Pickett’s marker southwest to the dead drop at Gilded Drop. Clear the enemies, then open the marked container and take the mask. PowerPyx identifies the container as a porta-potty, though other walkthrough descriptions are less specific; follow the marked dead drop if the scenery does not match that description.

Return to The Pit and finish the mission
Go back to The Pit. Defeat the Rippers and the now-hostile Numba One, then return to The Boss’s office and hand over the mask. PowerPyx reports rewards of EXP, cash, Eridium, the Claver Vault Hunter Style, and a shotgun whose rarity can range from green to purple; that range is not a guarantee of a particular drop.
