When looking for a specific item, distinguish the equipment piece that affects your character’s gear from an appearance you can apply separately. - Vendors: Look at faction quartermasters and other regional sellers. Appearance guides also point to Crossroads NPCs and the Black Emporium. Availability may depend on where you are in the game and your current progression.
- Exploration and chests: Some unique equipment is found at specific locations rather than bought. Consult a location guide when you are hunting a named item.
- Quests: Some equipment is associated with quest-related locations or rewards. Check the item’s stated acquisition condition before assuming it can be collected at any time.
- Editions and promotions: Some cosmetic sets are tied to a paid edition or a past promotion; these are separate from ordinary in-game finds.
The GameSpot wardrobe guide describes appearance sources including faction quartermasters, regional NPCs, Crossroads NPCs, and the Black Emporium. The Gameranx unique armor guide focuses on location-based entries and vendor purchases. Use these as route references, then verify the exact item and its requirements in your game.
How do you change armor appearance?
Use the Wardrobe to review collected appearances and choose a look independently of the visible gear selection described in appearance guides. If the look you want is missing, check how that appearance is obtained—such as through a vendor, exploration, a quest, or an edition entitlement—rather than assuming it is a stat-bearing item you have not equipped. The available guides do not establish one universal menu path or button sequence for every platform, so consult the current in-game interface for the exact controls.

A community video description has claimed a count of 119, but that figure is not verified as a complete, current in-game total and should not be treated as definitive. The secondary armor inventory is useful for browsing categories, while location and wardrobe guides help with acquisition; neither establishes that one playthrough unlocks every appearance.
