Wordle #1517, dated Thursday, August 14, 2025, has the answer KNELL, according to archived puzzle guides. Start with the progressively more revealing clues below; the solution is kept after a spoiler break.
Wordle hints for August 14, 2025
Clues are ordered from general letter structure to meaning. Stop whenever you have enough help.
- The answer has four consonants and one vowel.
- Its pattern is consonant-consonant-vowel-consonant-consonant.
- Its only vowel is E.
- It begins with K.
- It ends with L, and L appears twice.
- It means the sound of a bell tolling, especially one associated with death.
The Xfire guide suggested SLATE or CRANE as opening guesses for probing letters; those are that guide’s suggestions, not universally optimal starting words. Xfire’s August 14 guide and the Stuck on Wordle archive report the puzzle’s clues.
