Wordle #1504 hints for August 1, 2025
Start with the broad clues, then move to the more revealing ones:
- The answer has five letters: three consonants and two vowels.
- Its vowels are A and O, and no letter repeats.
- It starts with B and ends with a vowel.
- It follows the pattern consonant-vowel-consonant-consonant-vowel (CVCCV).
- For a music-themed clue, think of an instrument associated with folk and country music. Parade’s analogy words are “guitar” or “mandolin.”

Spoiler: The answer is BANJO.
Three secondary answer pages—Xfire, Wordhint, and Parade—agree on the puzzle number, date, and solution. BANJO fits the clues: it has five distinct letters, with A and O as its vowels, and matches the CVCCV pattern. Wordhint describes a banjo as a five-string musical instrument.
How the answer was reported
Xfire labels the puzzle “normal,” while Wordhint calls it “tricky” on its own rating scale. Those are the sites’ descriptions, not an official New York Times difficulty rating. The cited answer pages corroborate BANJO, but an official NYT page confirming this archived puzzle was not located.
