Tough Guardian Bone is gathered from bone piles in the Ruins of Wyveria in Monster Hunter Wilds. Check multiple piles: the item is reported as a random bone-pile find in both Low Rank and High Rank, not as a drop tied to one specific pile. To refresh the route, travel to another map and return.
Where to find Tough Guardian Bone
The in-game description identifies Tough Guardian Bone as a material from the Ruins of Wyveria: “A bone found in the Ruins of Wyveria. Its peculiar shape is unique to the local wildlife.” The item is rarity 4 and is used for crafting and upgrading equipment. PHANTOM BRAWLERS’ MHWilds Items reference reproduces the item description.

PowerPyx’s February 26, 2025 location guide reports that bone piles in Wyveria can yield Tough Guardian Bone in both Low Rank and High Rank. The piles yield bones randomly, so searching more than one pile is the practical approach; the guide does not identify a single guaranteed gathering point. How to farm it
- Travel to the Ruins of Wyveria and find bone piles.
- Gather from multiple piles rather than repeatedly checking only one; the reported source is random across the map’s piles.
- When you have checked the available piles, travel to another map, then return to Wyveria and gather again. PowerPyx describes changing maps as a way to refresh the piles.
The guide does not establish a drop percentage, a guaranteed number of bones per run, or an expected farming time. If the material does not appear, continue checking other piles and repeat the map-change loop.

What Tough Guardian Bone is used for
GameCat’s crafting reference lists the material in recipes across weapon and armor categories. Before farming, check the current recipe for your target at the in-game smithy. Recipe requirements can differ by equipment, and the cited reference does not establish that its list covers every item or current game version.
