Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said the company intends to remake some older Assassin’s Creed games, but he did not name any titles or give a release window. The statement, published by Ubisoft on June 27, 2024, confirms the broad plan—not which games are involved.
What Ubisoft confirmed
In an interview about offering variety, including smaller games alongside larger releases, Guillemot said: “Firstly, players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them; there are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich.” Ubisoft’s June 27, 2024 interview frames the remakes as part of a broader aim to release games more regularly while varying their scale and style.
Which Assassin’s Creed games are being remade?
Guillemot did not identify any game, say how many remakes Ubisoft is planning, describe platforms, or announce a release date or window. The official statement is therefore not a title announcement or a schedule.
A GameSpot report from June 27, 2024 described Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag as a possible remake. That is a reported possibility, not a title Guillemot confirmed in the interview.

Has Ubisoft provided a newer remake update?
Ubisoft’s March 4, 2026 franchise update discussed projects including codename HEXE, codename INVICTUS, and Assassin’s Creed Jade at different stages. It did not provide a remake-specific status update or name a remake. That omission neither confirms progress nor indicates cancellation.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an already released entry, not one of the remakes confirmed by Guillemot. In the 2024 interview, Ubisoft described it as a leaner homage to the series’ roots and contrasted its scale with Assassin’s Creed Shadows. It is an option for players looking for an available game in the meantime, rather than evidence about the remakes.
