Take-Two officially announced the game on January 30, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The King of Kings, Attitude Era, and Monday Night War editions launched March 6, 2026, and the Standard Edition launched March 13, 2026. Both dates have passed as of October 8, 2026, so the game is available now on the platforms listed below.
Release dates by edition
WWE 2K26 used a staggered launch. The three premium editions came out first, and the Standard Edition followed one week later. The publisher’s January 30, 2026 announcement set both dates, and WWE 2K’s official support FAQ repeats them.

The support FAQ describes early access for players who pre-ordered one of the three premium editions. That access sits apart from the general Standard Edition launch, so buyers who pre-ordered a premium edition could start playing before the March 13 date.
Platforms
The publisher named four platforms for the game:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- Nintendo Switch 2
- PC via Steam
The official support FAQ lists Standard Edition platform versions for Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Check the edition’s store page before you buy, because the sources I reviewed did not give a platform-by-platform breakdown of every premium edition.

Editions and listed prices
The 2K Store lists four editions. The prices below are the store’s listed prices as of the October 8, 2026 page check. Retailers may charge different amounts, and prices can change.

The support FAQ separates the physical Standard Edition from the premium editions, which it lists as digital. If you want a disc, Standard Edition is the only edition with a physical option in the sources reviewed. The store page describes what each edition includes, so compare those lists before paying the premium price.

What you need to play online
The official 2K announcement says the premium editions were available worldwide, with Standard Edition following on March 13, 2026. Its terms add two conditions:
- Online or bonus features may require an internet connection and a 2K account registration.
- Online play on consoles may require a separate paid subscription from the platform holder.
The sources do not name the specific subscription each console requires, so confirm that with your console’s own service before you buy.

What the publisher says the game includes
2K’s official store page claims “400+ playable WWE Superstars and Legends.” That figure comes from 2K’s own product page, so attribute it to the publisher rather than treating it as an independently counted roster.
The publisher’s Ringside Report lists four new match types: Dumpster, I Quit, Three Stages of Hell, and Inferno. It also describes interactive environments, surprise attacks, start-of-match actions, programmable AI sequences, expanded rivalries, and interactive entrances. These are the publisher’s descriptions and have not been independently tested.

Greg Thomas, President at Visual Concepts, said the team had “additions and improvements to every single game mode in WWE 2K26.” That is promotional language from the launch announcement, not an independent assessment.

Earlier coverage described the release date and platforms as leaked or expected. Those descriptions no longer apply. The publisher confirmed the platforms and dates in its own announcement, and the game has since launched. Any article that still presents the date as upcoming or leaked is out of date.

The one point of uncertainty left is the price. The 2K Store figures were checked on October 8, 2026, and they may differ from current prices elsewhere. Check the price and stock at your chosen store before you buy.
