How Watch and Learn works
Skills may be demonstrated by friendly trainees at practice areas or by enemies, bosses, and apparitions during encounters. The IGN guide describes learning techniques by watching moves unfold and says observed skills appear in the skill tree. It also reports that observation can bypass some point-spending prerequisites, though points may still be needed for other skills in the same tree. The Games Wiki guide likewise describes observable skills as marked in the tree and observation as an alternative to spending Abyss Artifacts; treat those finer mechanics as secondary reporting, not official confirmation.
Check the current in-game skill tree for an observation marker and follow the demonstration as it occurs. How to decide where to look
- Check the skill tree: Look for the in-game indication that a skill can be learned through observation. The guides do not support assuming every skill is observable.
- Try a repeatable training area first: Investigate the reported Hernand grounds when searching for practice demonstrations. If no one is performing a move, allow time for activity to change or return later.
- Match the skill to its reported source: A trainee demonstration may be easier to revisit than a one-time encounter; a story- or boss-linked report may require chapter progression. The guides do not document those conditions for every skill.
