Battlefield 6 and Battlefield 2042 are the Battlefield games EA currently documents as supporting crossplay. Battlefield 6 connects PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Battlefield 2042 also supports crossplay, but splits players into separate matchmaking groups by console generation.

EA’s crossplay catalog is displayed with a date of 21 October 2024. Its classification is useful for Battlefield 1, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield V, but it does not establish every platform-specific legacy detail.
Which platforms can play Battlefield 6 together?
Battlefield 6 crossplay brings PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S players together. It does not create a single pool including older console generations. EA says matchmaking on consoles prioritizes console players, while PC players can be brought in when console players are insufficient.
Crossplay is on by default. On PlayStation and Xbox, go to Settings → System → Setup → Cross-play to view or change the setting. EA says the option can only be viewed or changed on consoles. Turning off PC crossplay does not guarantee that preference will always be maintained: if waits are extended, matchmaking may override it.

How Battlefield 2042 crossplay is divided
Battlefield 2042 has two crossplay pools rather than one universal pool:
- New-generation group: PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
- Older-generation group: PS4 and Xbox One.
That means a PS5 player and an Xbox Series X|S player can play together, while a PS4 player is matched with Xbox One players—not with the new-generation group.

To change the setting, open Accessibility & Options → General → Cross-play from the in-game main menu. EA says you cannot change it while in a group, during matchmaking, or after joining a server. Turning crossplay off limits play to people on the same platform.

Crossplay means players on supported platforms can play together; cross-progression means progress carries between platforms. They are separate features. For Battlefield 6 and Battlefield 2042, EA’s support pages specify crossplay and explain the platform groupings and settings. For Battlefield 1, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield V, EA’s catalog identifies them as games without crossplay. Battlefield Hardline and Battlefield 3 are listed in EA’s Battlefield catalog, but the available catalog evidence does not explicitly resolve their crossplay status; their presence on that page should not be treated as confirmation either way.
