Typhon is a major victory on Melinoë’s surface route, but the completed game has a separate true ending. The official announcement for the final release does not describe the exact scene or objective that follows the Typhon fight, so this article covers what Supergiant Games has confirmed and where that confirmation stops.
Why a Typhon victory is not automatically the ending
Supergiant Games describes Hades II as “a sweeping story that continually unfolds through your every setback and accomplishment.” The publisher presents the narrative as something that keeps moving through failed runs and successful ones alike, rather than as a sequence of boss fights that ends with the last one you defeat. Treat a Typhon win as a major milestone, not as confirmation that the finale has arrived.
What the final release adds
Supergiant Games released Hades II version 1.0 on September 25, 2025, ending its Early Access period. According to the publisher’s launch announcement, the update included:
- The story’s true ending
- New events for the game’s voiced characters
- New music
- New Fated List prophecies
- Late-game unlockables
Guides, reviews, or discussion posts written during Early Access may describe an ending state that was not final. If a source predates the 1.0 launch, check its date before relying on its account of how the story closes.

- Battle beyond the Underworld using dark sorcery to take on the Titan of Time in this bewitching sequel to the award-winning rogue-like dungeon crawler.
Where the 1.0 version is available
The same announcement confirms availability on four platforms:
- Nintendo Switch 2
- Nintendo Switch
- Steam
- Epic Games Store
The announcement confirms platforms only. It does not establish physical-format or edition details, so check the current storefront listing before you buy.
Rank #2
- Battle beyond the Underworld to vanquish the Titan of Time as the Princess of the Dead in this bewitching sequel to the original rogue-like dungeon crawler. Hades II lets players explore a bigger, deeper mythic world with the full might of Olympus at their call in a story that reacts to their every setback and accomplishment.
What is not established
The official announcement does not describe the exact scene, save behavior, or next objective that follows defeating Typhon. Player discussion and Early Access accounts describe encounters, but they do not establish the sequence in the completed game, so this article does not provide one. Avoid assuming a cutscene or a required next step based on the fight alone, because the post-Typhon path is the part of the story the publisher has not documented in the material available here.

- Confirm that your copy is version 1.0 or later. Check the version information shown on your storefront’s Hades II page or in the game itself.
- Read Supergiant Games’ announcement, “Hades II: v1.0 Now Available!” (September 25, 2025), to see what the final update changed.
- For step-by-step progression after Typhon, use a walkthrough published after September 25, 2025, and compare it with the announcement. Be cautious with spoiler-heavy community posts from Early Access.
The verified answer is that Typhon is a major surface-route victory, while the true ending belongs to the completed 1.0 release. The exact path from Typhon to that ending is not documented in the official source available here.
