There is no established universal best weapon for Maliketh. Choose a well-upgraded weapon that fits your attributes, deals mostly non-Holy damage, and lets you apply stance pressure during safe openings. Maliketh is reported to have 80% Holy resistance, so a Holy-heavy weapon is a poor default. If you want help countering specific attacks, the Blasphemous Claw is a separate defensive option—not a top-damage weapon.
How to choose a weapon for Maliketh
Maliketh’s encounter in Crumbling Farum Azula has two phases: Beast Clergyman, followed by Maliketh at half health. That means a weapon needs to work for your build across the encounter, not just suit a single short punish window.

The Eldenpedia community-maintained Maliketh reference reports 80% Holy resistance and 35% resistance to each of the listed standard, strike, slash, and pierce damage categories. These are wiki-transcribed game figures, not official developer data. They support avoiding a Holy-centered default, but they do not mean every physical weapon performs equally well.
Prioritize usable non-Holy damage
Compare the damage type your weapon actually deals, including any split damage, rather than relying only on its name or appearance. Prefer a candidate whose damage is not predominantly Holy, and that your attributes and upgrades already support.

Look for stance pressure you can land safely
Stance pressure is a practical selection criterion: choose a weapon you can connect with during Maliketh’s brief openings. The community guide and player discussion recommend stance pressure, but neither supplies controlled comparisons establishing a best weapon. A slower or stronger hit is only useful if you can land it without taking a risky trade.
Use your current build, not a hypothetical one
There is no sourced, tested ranking among named weapons here. A weapon that suits your stats and is well upgraded is a more defensible choice than switching to a supposedly optimal weapon that your build cannot use effectively.

When the Blasphemous Claw helps
The Blasphemous Claw is an optional defensive tool for certain Maliketh attacks marked by a golden glow. Eldenpedia says it can deflect those attacks, briefly stunning him and creating an opening. It is not a damage weapon recommendation, and the resulting stun is not automatically a critical-hit opportunity; the reference associates critical hits with a stance break.
The reference specifically includes a spin attack after Maliketh plunges his sword into the ground among the attacks the Claw can counter. Treat it as a timing-based answer to those marked attacks, not a general defense against his moveset.

Upgrades and current patch context
A community guide suggests bringing a +25 weapon. That is the guide’s preparation advice, not a required threshold or official recommendation; the sources do not establish an upgrade level that guarantees success.
Bandai Namco reports that Patch 1.17 was released on August 27, 2026, adding Tarnished Pack DLC support and making balance adjustments. Its notice does not identify a Maliketh-specific change or establish that any of the resistance figures or weapon recommendations changed. The resistance figures above remain attributed to the community-maintained reference rather than presented as official patch data.
